An armed suspect carjacked a Toyota SUV on Monday morning.


The suspect allegedly smashed a window with a weapon after which fled within the car leaving the lady behind.

Two persons are in custody following a carjacking early Monday morning in Richmond.

Richmond RCMP say a girl in her 40s was beginning her Toyota SUV at a residence within the 5000 block of Walton Highway when she was approached by an individual clad in darkish clothes.

The stranger smashed her window with a weapon after which stolen the car leaving the lady behind.

Police say the sufferer, who was visibly shaken from the incident, was handled in hospital for non-life threatening accidents.

The incident occurred at 7:30 a.m.

Vancouver police positioned the stolen car about 90 minutes later close to Boundary Highway and East Hastings Avenue. Two folks — a 28-year-old man from Delta and a 21-year-old lady from Pitt Meadows — have been arrested and turned over to Richmond RCMP. 

Their names haven’t been launched as fees are nonetheless pending.
