A 29-year-old Barrie woman suffered “serious injuries” after being hit by a bouncing wheel on Hwy. 400 Wednesday morning.

OPP say she was driving southbound between Innisfil Beach Rd. and Hwy. 89 around 8:30 a.m. when a northbound four-door car lost its wheel, which then crashed into her windshield.

“The wheel bounced over the highway and entered the southbound lanes, where it came head-on with another vehicle,” Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said.
