Eat a bowl of noodles and do something nice.
This Sunday, July 7, the Chinese noodle brand Yunshang will be launching a “pay-what-you-can” campaign across all its eateries in support of the Hospital for Sick Children’s new hospital. All Yunshang Rice Noodle locations within the Greater Toronto Area will be offering this exclusive menu item, with guests being encouraged to pay only what they can – with 100% of the proceeds collected that day going towards SickKids Foundation.
The hospital hits close to home for the the founder of Yunshang Rice Noodle, James Wang, – his son, Derek, was a patient when he was only a year old, due to a severe allergic reaction to bug bites.
“Seeing my child in pain was so difficult. It was SickKids that found the problem and was able to solve it,” said Wang, who is a dedicated supporter of the hospital. “As a parent, especially to a young child, having your child experience something life threatening at such a young age is extremely scary.”
The event runs noon to 9 p.m.
